This series of Skyy Vodka advertisements is what I decided to do my polished blog on. All of the ads are hyper-sexualized and in my opinion are a perfect example of psychoanalytic theory. There is no shortage of phallic symbols, in fact in the majority of the ads the sky vodka bottle itself is the stand in for a penis. This particular ad showcases the woman's breasts as the triangular/focal point of the ad leads to the man's penis. Also, notice the shadowing directly over the woman's face. I think one of the most interesting aspects is the fact that while on the beach the man is clothes and the women is almost naked. I think this reinforces the power structure we had been discussing and implies that the man is of higher class and power than the woman.

The ad does make a very obvious point in pointing our the man's crotch. The women's eyes are also seemingly looking in that direction (although I'm sure the ad's makers would argue that she is looking up at the man). Even the fact that she is underneath him (below him) ads fuel to the fire. The lengths advertisers are willing to go in order to market a product amazes me sometimes.
